Honey Miso Pork Onigiri - EP 1

Shokugeki no Soma Recipe

From Megumi's 3 kinds of onigiri. This was the best tasting one imo... =9

My first video~ From so long ago... Can't believe it's already been a whole year!!! ^^
I'll be posting the full recipes on this blog so things are easier to find.
Plus some fail proof tips for the perfect results!! =D

INGREDIENTS:

200g pork belly

3 cloves garlic
3 tbsp miso paste
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sake
rice
nori strips
salt & water

  1. Cut the pork belly into large chunks.
  2. In a pot of boiling water, boil the pork for 15-20 minutes until completely cooked.
  3. Mince to garlic.
  4. In a bowl or airtight container, combine the minced garlic, honey, sake, miso and mix well.
  5. Cut the cooked pork into a centimeter thick slices and evenly coat in the marinate.
  6. Seal the container or cover in plastic wrap and store in the fridge overnight.
  7. The next day, dice the pork into smaller chunks.
  8. Stuff the filling into the rice ball and wrap in a piece of nori to finish.

Tips:

  • Flatten the garlic with the side of the knife to quickly peel the skin off
  • When handling the riceball, wet hands in salt water to prevent the rice from sticking to your hand.
