200g pork belly
3 cloves garlic
3 tbsp miso paste
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sake
rice
nori strips
salt & water
- Cut the pork belly into large chunks.
- In a pot of boiling water, boil the pork for 15-20 minutes until completely cooked.
- Mince to garlic.
- In a bowl or airtight container, combine the minced garlic, honey, sake, miso and mix well.
- Cut the cooked pork into a centimeter thick slices and evenly coat in the marinate.
- Seal the container or cover in plastic wrap and store in the fridge overnight.
- The next day, dice the pork into smaller chunks.
- Stuff the filling into the rice ball and wrap in a piece of nori to finish.
Tips:
- Flatten the garlic with the side of the knife to quickly peel the skin off
- When handling the riceball, wet hands in salt water to prevent the rice from sticking to your hand.
